It has come to our attention that there may be those who claim to have trained with, and/or have been given authority by me or the Qian Li Dao Academy, to teach Wing Chun the way it is taught by me/us. In response to such queries and concerns, we state in this post the current people, clubs/schools that are officially connected with Sifu Dana Wong and the Qian Li Dao Academy.

Our US affiliates at the Martial Arts & Fitness Center in Pennsylvania have had a recent boom in new students taking up their Wing Chun program. Sifu Kelly Knight and friends were working hard on getting their core training skills up to speed in anticipation of my recent visit there.

As it was earlier this year, in New Zealand, there were many new faces to go along with some of the old ones, so we split the participants into two distinct groups. We worked on developing and understanding core training skills like punching and basic chi sao and footwork skills for the newer ones; the older ones were given concepts and challenges to develop their two-armed chi sao and random skills. The final day of sessions was spent learning some coordination and weapon applications of the butterfly swords.

Needless to say, as always, all had a great time during the seminars and the time passed too quickly. I even got taken to a nice Mexican restaurant (all too rare in northeast USA), and had a wonderful Mexican dish draped in, of all things, chocolate sauce! It was a fitting end to a great day of training.

With all the craziness of running a martial arts school, coordinating activities for the state’s kung fu federation branch, travelling here and there to teach overseas seminars and workshops… I completely forgot…

As of May 2012, the Qian Li Dao Academy is 9 years old!!!

From all of us here at the Academy, we want to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all of our students, friends, families, visitors and supporters for allowing us to grow from nothing in May 2003 to an institution that has sprouted roots all over the world. We would not be here today, if not for you, who have believed in our philosophy and our brand of kung fu instruction. We stand here today as a testament to your belief and support that quality martial arts training still has much relevance in today’s society and hectic lifestyle.

We hope to continue to provide an environment which allows one to grow in all aspects of development – physically, mentally and spiritually, so that we can help foster well-rounded, responsible and capable members of society.
