Blade Masterclasses in August

Sifu Dana Wong will be returning to Resilience Massage and Training to join his student, Chris Gauntlett, in running a series of Knife Training Master Classes. If you haven’t trained with Sifu Dana before, this is an opportunity not to be missed. Sifu Dana has over 30 years of teaching experience and brings a unique perspective to training knife fighting that is grounded both in Wing Chun Kung Fu and traditional Filipino martial arts.Knife training drills have enormous benefit for:• Practical self defence skills• Improving reaction speed, reflexes and timing• Hand/eye coordination• Sensitivity training and Wing Chun chi sao application.Sifu Dana and Chris will both be teaching together in a ‘tag-team’ format for this series of Master Classes. The classes will build on the concepts and principles taught in the first two Wing Chun chi sao Master Classes, and will use knife training drills as an alternative lens through which to look at and explore the concepts of Wing Chun Kung Fu.These Master Classes are open to all levels of experience and do not require any previous training in Wing Chun Kung Fu.

Covid Lockdown Closures Update

ATTENTION: Students and followers of the Academy – due to the latest updates from the Victorian government today (9 June), the Academy and its branches in the Melbourne area will remain closed until midnight, Thursday 17 June. Hopefully, all restrictions which keep us apart will be eased by then, and we will be able to resume face-to-face training again. This restriction applies to all adult and children’s classes at their respective branches. But that doesn’t mean that YOU cannot keep up your own training in the meantime. Try things out, formulate your questions, see if you can answer your own queries. There is still much training that you can do until we meet again! Keep well and stay safe!

Hooray – We’ll Be Back!!!

After almost a year, due to Covid-19 and the subsequent lockdown, the Qian Li Dao Academy is happy to announce that we are resuming face-to-face classes again!!!

Our Werribee/Hoppers Crossing classes, both for children and for adults, will resume as from Monday, 1 February 2021. We also want to inform you that we will no longer be at Wyndham Park Community Centre on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We will be returning to the Grange Community Centre on those two evenings, as well as on Saturday mornings again. The renovated centre there and more centralised location are the reasons for our return to the Grange.

Monday and Thursday nights will resume again at the Crossroads Uniting Church hall in Werribee. Please see our Where & When page here for all the details on where we will be, on what days.

Classes for our Bentleigh branch will resume as from Wednesday, 3 February 2021.

There will be certain protocols to comply with Covid-Safe procedures as we resume classes, and with regards to trial lessons. Please contact us by phone or email if you have any queries. Current students will soon receive an email or call regarding these updates.

Looking forward to moving forward with you all again, as we resume our Kung Fu journey together again!!! See you soon!!!
